Hope

Nice to hear from you, Bill. Hope is a powerful thing - look what it did for Barack Obama! I mean, obviously more than hope is going on, but letting go of that hope would have probably killed the momentum, as it tends to do.

Wow. I'd like to take a tip from you and find some of that hope thing. But I dunno just now. However, good for you! Really! It breeds more, so they say.

We should have lunch sometime. When it's not insanely cold or whatever.

"If at first you don't succeed. Just keep sucking 'til you do suck seed." Sometimes it's just about slogging through it.

And whether you feel it or not, the example you set gives hope to others.
Truly.

oh and "woof"
I haven't been around here much, and you've changed your screen name. Took me a while to catch on.

I don't have any tips to give out. Just waddling along in the midst of it.

As for lunch, are you ever in NYC?

Oh, sorry. Yes, it's me. Whoops!

When spring springs and summer rolls, I'm in New York every couple of weeks. I don't really do freezing, unless seriously compelled. :-)
Bill…I think we're leading parallel lives (somewhat)…How about a "date" with a well-behaved, occasionally-cynical-but-working-on-it, forty-something, Brooklyn girl who, like you is keeping hope alive and runs in similar circles?
Hopefulness is somewhat different from optimism in that hope is an emotional state, whereas optimism is a conclusion reached through a deliberate thought pattern that leads to a positive attitude. wikipedia....
