Northwest Air Again Exceedes My Expections for Incompetence

Comments

Yikes... feckittyfeck!
I don't understand why financial disaster gives an excuse to provide awful service... Sorry that your flight was so yikey...
Hope you had a great time with your family at least!
I am hoping my Delta flight to Florida is not so bad this Sunday...
Um, yeah. Last time I flew NWA it was an international flight and I spent 30 minutes just getting in the correct line to check in (the helpful shepherdesses kept sending me back and forth), and then I find out that my assigned seat that I purchased two months ago is no longer "assigned" to me and I have to go to the gate for a seat assignment... which was still going on 10 minutes after the flight was supposed to take off. I did eventually get on the plane, but it all felt like some kind of sick joke.
Great letter. My wife calls them "Northwerst". We're flying them over the coming holiday... oh joy. Fortunately we don't do air travel that much.
Yikes! That does sound exceedingly miserable, and I'm especially sorry to hear about your befouled luggage.

The Minneapolis-Newark flights especially seem ill-starred this year. That was the site of my flight disasters this summer that eventually left me stranded in Cincinnati overnight and pitching a hissy fit so they wouldn't reroute me back through Newark the next day.
Update: I emailed them Friday night and haven't heard a word.
Another Update: I called the customer service number, which gave me another number. I called that number, and the guy said he didn't even know there was an online complaint form for luggage problems. He also said the supervisor would be unlikely to approve damage compensation because there's no way to photograph a smell, but that I should write a brief letter describing the WHOLE fiasco (my word, not his), and fax it into him as it needs to signed. SIGH.
So basically people are paying money so that NWA customer service people get paid without doing their job?... y.a.y...
In fairness, this guy was really nice. It doesn't mean he has much power to do anything, but he was trying to be as helpful as possible.
That's good to know. Actually I appreciate when other people treat me nicely - except when they try to sell something and call me honey, darling, sweetie, etc. - because I'm not really nice.
My dad asked me to clarify that it was at my mom and stepdad's place that I didn't have broadband internet access. Hi does have broadband.
Bill, you do recall that Nate's uncle handles luggage complaints for NWA at MSP, don't you?
No. Never knew that. Good to know.
